Celebrating the achievements of the Veterans in the Transitional Housing Program 2006

On Friday, April 14, 2006, NECHV recognized the achievements of the veterans in the Transitional Housing Program (THP), each of whom successfully transitioned from temporary shelter into permanent housing. Massachusetts State Secretary of Veterans Services, Tom Kelley, along with NECHV Chairman, Dan Daly, were on hand to congratulate the veterans and recognize their achievements at the buffet luncheon event held at 17 Court Street.

Ann Becker, Program Manager of the NECHV Case Management Unit, along with Bob Rubinstein, NESHV Housing Outreach Coordinator, presented certificates of completion to over 40 veterans who attained housing within the last year. An assortment of door prizes - graciously contributed by several donors - were awarded to the veterans at the conclusion of the event.

The THP luncheon marked an occasion for us to celebrate what we're all about: successful transitioning from temporary shelter into permanent housing. It provided an occasion for us to reflect upon - and be proud of - the work we do in helping our nation's veterans who find themselves in difficult situations attain permanent housing.

The veterans recognized at the luncheon made that long and difficult journey from homelessness into permanent housing. NECHV congratulates each of them on their attainment of permanent housing, commends them for their efforts, and wishes them continued success in their lives.
