Peter Wolf Rocks the House at NECHV
Mayor Walsh declared April 14, 2016 “Peter Wolf Day” in honor of the musician’s significant contributions to music history, and NECHV was thrilled to host the Mayor and Wolf for the declaration ceremony. Citing his deep connection to Boston, Wolf said in a statement, “It’s a great honor to be recognized by the city that’s been my home since I first came to Boston to study painting as a young art student. It is my sincere hope that this event will help our Mayor in his initiative to create awareness and to provide care and support for our homeless Veterans who have already given so much.”
Wolf performed a special 30 minute set for Veterans with his band The Midnight Travelers, which included songs from his new solo album, “A Cure for Loneliness”, and some old favorites. The intimate venue made this a truly special performance. One Veteran in attendance brought his saxophone and was invited to play along when Wolf joined him in the audience with the microphone.
Prior to the performance, NECHV President and CEO Andy McCawley presented Wolf with a challenge coin, a long-held military tradition that signifies appreciation and membership of a group. Wolf’s support and kindness towards local Veterans ensures he will always be a member of the NECHV family.
